Greetings! As the new president of the board of directors for Daemion Counseling Center, I am honored to be a part of Daemion with its rich history, and, more importantly, exciting future. We have a fantastic, committed board and loyal volunteers who are forging a path for Daemion’s growth, led by Marti Magee, Executive Director. Marti works tirelessly to raise the funds and maintain the quality, licensed staff necessary to offer Daemion’s professional, affordable mental health counseling services.

My personal view is that Daemion, together with our supporters, must champion mental health education in our community, help remove the stigma around mental health care, and offer relevant programs and services to make sure that Daemion continues to be here to listen and help people who are struggling with life’s challenges.

Let me share with you our top three goals for 2016 – 2017:

  1. Provide high quality and affordable counseling services to community members in Southeastern Pennsylvania
  2. Build a sustainable and diverse revenue base sufficient to meet the needs of the organization
  3. Build the community’s knowledge and awareness of Daemion Counseling Center

Although we’ve been in the area for over 40 years, we run into people who don’t know who we are. We can only give HOPE to teens, adults, and families who may be feeling helpless if they know Daemion is here. This newly energized newsletter marks one of the many ways we are building knowledge and awareness in the five-county area to spread the word about Daemion. Can you help us share the story? We’re inviting the community to get to know us at Taste of Berwyn, our major annual fundraiser and community festival. We look forward to seeing you, your family, and friends there!

Most importantly, I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to the foundations, donors, sponsors, and community who make our small, but mighty nonprofit possible. Whether through personal gifts, participation in community events, grants, or referring those in need to Daemion, we are truly grateful!
