There are times in life when people can benefit from some extra support and guidance. Seeking help can be an overwhelming and difficult process. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to helping clients reach their goals. My approach to those seeking help is one of warmth and respect.
I strive to create an environment where clients feel free to discuss anything without feeling judged. I work with adolescents (14 to 19), adults and couples on a variety of presenting concerns. I hope to help people to gain a clearer understanding of themselves and their circumstances, and to assist in creating and using coping skills that will help to better face life’s challenges.
My passion is to help each client find relief from distress and overcome obstacles that may be interfering with having a more satisfying, fulfilling life. I view counseling as an integrative, collaborative process and take each client’s individual needs into account, incorporating cognitive-behavioral and insight-oriented approaches.
I also have experience working with Mindfulness, Solution-Oriented Therapy as well as relational models. Some areas of clinical interest include depression, anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, relationship issues, life-work balance, and navigating transitions. I work with a diverse clientele, including the LGBT community and ethnically mixed people. Through the therapeutic relationship and various clinical approaches, I believe everyone has the ability to live a more fulfilling life.
